What do software engineers do on a day-to-day basis? Is it just coding all day or are there other important things that aren't coding related. I'm interested in software development as a career path, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend all my time just coding.

It really depends on what role you are assigned to. For example, I'm a senior software engineer, so I have more responsabilities than just writing code, such as supervising and teaching some of the new employees to make sure they know what they are doing. It's a very rewarding role because you get to see the joy on the faces on the people you teach.
